Partnerships

We represent thirty-seven institutions across fourteen European countries, from two offices in Sri Lanka and one in the Netherlands. If you want to reach this market properly, there is a way to work together.

Working with a partner institution
01 — Why Ahasa

A market we built rather than inherited

Ahasa began in 2017 when our founder went looking for the European countries nobody was showing Sri Lankan students — strong universities, affordable, with a real route to work after graduation. He was the first agent to put Latvia in front of Sri Lankan students, and the first to bring Latvian universities to Sri Lanka to meet them in person. In 2019 that work became a company, registered in Riga.

Opening a destination is patient work: finding the right institutions, earning the agreement, mapping the visa route, then standing behind the first students who trust it. That is what a partner is buying — not a mailing list, but a market that has been explained to properly.

  • 2019

Registered in Riga and operating since — long enough to have alumni, not just applicants.

  • 37

Partner institutions already under agreement, listed publicly on our universities page.

  • 16

European destinations mapped in detail, from visa desk to post-study work rights.

  • 3

Offices — Colombo, Kurunegala and the Netherlands — so we are present at both ends.

02 — Who we work with

Six ways to partner with us

Different partners want different things from Sri Lanka. These are the six arrangements we already run, and what each side brings.

  • Universities & higher education institutions

Degree-awarding institutions teaching in English, anywhere in Europe or beyond.

We represent you in Sri Lanka: counselling students into the right programme, screening academic eligibility before an application reaches you, verifying documents, and preparing the visa file so your offer converts into an enrolment.

What we need from youYour programme list with entry requirements, tuition and intake dates, plus a named contact in your international office.
  • Colleges, language schools & pathway providers

Foundation years, pre-master’s, language routes and diploma-to-degree progression.

A large share of Sri Lankan applicants need a bridge — an English route, a foundation year, or a diploma that articulates into year two. We route those students to you rather than turning them away.

What we need from youProgression agreements with your onward partners, and clarity on what your qualification guarantees.
  • Schools & international schools in Sri Lanka

National and international schools, tuition institutes and A/L colleges.

Career-guidance sessions for your students, parent evenings that explain the real cost and visa picture, and on-campus university fairs with our partner institutions present.

What we need from youA date, a hall and your careers lead. We bring the speakers, the materials and the universities.
  • Counsellors & sub-agents

Independent counsellors and regional agencies across Sri Lanka.

Sub-representation on our university agreements, with our admissions and visa desks handling the processing behind you, so you can advise students without building a back office.

What we need from youA track record you can point to, and a commitment to advising honestly rather than placing at any cost.
  • Employers & industry partners

Companies in Europe and Sri Lanka hiring graduates or offering placements.

Our students study in countries with real post-study work rights. We connect programmes to employers who want the graduates, and tell students which fields actually hire.

What we need from youThe roles, the languages required and the level you recruit at.
  • Service partners

Accommodation, insurance, test preparation, forex, remittance and travel.

Every departure needs the same set of services. We prefer a small number of partners we can stand behind rather than a directory of referrals.

What we need from youCoverage in the countries we send to, and terms we can explain to a student in one sentence.
Students at an Ahasa event
School sessions and campus fairs across the island.
Application and visa paperwork
Screening and document checks before an application reaches you.
Students in a university library
Enrolled, supported and reported back on each intake.
03 — How it works

From first email to first intake

No long courtship. Most partnerships move from introduction to onboarding within a few weeks; the pace is usually set by your legal team rather than ours.

  • 01

    Introduction

You write to the international office, or we approach you. We send our profile, the destinations we cover and the student segments we actually reach.

  • 02

    Agreement

A representation agreement setting out territory, commission, data handling and how applications are submitted and tracked.

  • 03

    Onboarding

Your programmes, requirements, deadlines and portal access go to our admissions desk. Our counsellors are briefed so they can advise on your institution accurately.

  • 04

    Recruitment

Counselling, screening, applications, document verification, visa preparation, pre-departure and on-arrival support — then reporting back to you each intake.

04 — Our side of it

What we handle for an institution

The work that happens before an application reaches your admissions team, and after your offer is accepted.

  • Counselling. Matching a student’s profile, subject and budget to a country and an institution — before an application is written.
  • Screening. Academic eligibility, English level and document completeness checked at our end, so your admissions team sees applications worth reading.
  • Applications. Submitted through your portal or by your preferred route, with deadlines tracked on our side.
  • Document verification. Transcripts, certificates and financial documents checked and, where required, attested.
  • Visa preparation. The residence-permit or national-visa file assembled for the correct desk — Colombo, New Delhi, Singapore or an embassy, depending on the country.
  • Pre-departure. Briefings on accommodation, arrival, registration and the first weeks.
  • On arrival. Our Netherlands office and partner network stay reachable once the student lands.
  • Reporting. Application, offer and enrolment status back to your international office each intake.
05 — Reach

Where we are, and how students find us

Offices in Colombo and Kurunegala put us in front of students and parents in person; our Netherlands office keeps us close to the institutions and to students once they arrive. Alongside that we run school sessions and university fairs across the island, publish country-by-country guides on this site, and maintain an active presence on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X.

  • In person. School career sessions, parent evenings and on-campus fairs with partner universities present.
  • Online. Country guides covering visa route, work rights and post-study stay for sixteen destinations — the questions students actually search for.
  • Social. Sinhala and English content across five channels, aimed at students and the parents who fund them.
  • Two ends. A team in Sri Lanka and a team in Europe, so a partner is never dealing with a time zone that never answers.
06 — Questions

What institutions ask us first

What does Ahasa do for a partner institution?
We represent you in the Sri Lankan market. That means counselling students towards your programmes, screening their academic and English eligibility before an application reaches you, verifying documents, preparing the visa file and supporting the student through arrival. You receive applications that are already checked, and a single point of contact for the market.
How many institutions do you already represent?
Thirty-seven institutions across fourteen European countries are listed on our universities page, and we map sixteen European destinations in total on our countries page. Both are public, so you can see exactly who we work with before you speak to us.
Do you work exclusively with one institution per country?
No. We build a range in each country so students have a genuine choice of subject, city and entry level. What we do commit to is representing your institution accurately, and not advising a student into a programme that does not suit them.
We are a school in Sri Lanka, not a university. Can we work with you?
Yes, and it is one of the partnerships we value most. We run career-guidance sessions, parent evenings and on-campus university fairs. You provide the date, the hall and your careers lead; we bring the speakers, the materials and, where relevant, partner universities in person.
Do you take sub-agents?
Yes. Independent counsellors and regional agencies can work under our university agreements while our admissions and visa desks handle processing. It lets you advise students without building a back office of your own.
Which countries do you actively recruit for?
Fourteen European destinations have live partner institutions today — Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, Greece and Malta. France and Cyprus are mapped and open for partners. See the full list.
How do you handle student data?
Documents and personal data are collected only for the applications a student authorises, shared only with the institutions they are applying to and the relevant visa desk, and handled under our privacy policy. We are happy to sign a data-processing agreement.
How long does it take to set up a partnership?
Usually a matter of weeks rather than months: an introductory call, your agreement, then onboarding of your programmes and requirements into our admissions desk. The pace is normally set by your legal team, not ours.
Who do we contact?
Our international office: int@ahasa.eu, or +31 6 3416 7312. For press, events and campaigns, write to marketing@ahasa.eu instead.
07 — Enquiry

Start a conversation

Write to our international office at int@ahasa.eu, or use the form — put your institution’s name in the subject line and it reaches the right desk.

  • 01Tell us who you are — university, college, school, counsellor, employer or service partner.
  • 02Say what you want from the Sri Lankan market. Student numbers, a specific faculty, a school visit, a placement pipeline.
  • 03Attach a prospectus, programme list or company profile if you have one. It saves a round of emails.
