01 — Overview

Why study engineering in Europe

Europe builds the cars, robots and power grids the world runs on, and its engineering schools sit right beside the industry.

For a Sri Lankan student with Physical Science A/Ls, an engineering degree in Europe is one of the clearest routes into an international career. Degrees are taught in English, recognised across the European Union under the Bologna framework, and built around laboratories and industry projects rather than exams alone.

Our partners range from large technical universities such as Kaunas University of Technology and VILNIUS TECH to industry-led schools such as John von Neumann University, which sits next to the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kecskemét, and University West in Sweden, where work placements are built into the degree.

Below you will find every engineering programme our partner universities list, grouped by university. Entry rules differ by programme, so the quickest way to know where you stand is a free assessment of your results.

  1. 01Taught fully in English from the first semester to the final project.
  2. 02Labs and industry projects built into the degree, not added at the end.
  3. 03Public technical universities with long research records and modern campuses.
  4. 04EU-recognised degrees under the Bologna framework and ECTS credits.
  5. 05Work rights while you study and post-study time to look for work, depending on the country.
  6. 06A Schengen residence permit that lets you travel across 29 countries.

  • A related bachelor's degree for master's entry, usually with a minimum average
  • English: IELTS or an equivalent test, though some universities accept other proof
  • A motivation letter that explains why this field and this university
  • Your transcripts, translated and attested where needed

05 — Questions

What students ask us

Can I study engineering in Europe in English?
Yes. Every programme on this page is listed by the university as English-taught. You do not need to speak the local language for your degree, though learning some helps with part-time work and life outside campus.
Which A/L stream do I need for engineering?
Most engineering bachelor's degrees expect the Physical Science stream, with Combined Mathematics and Physics. Requirements vary by university and programme, so we check your results against each one before you apply.
Can I do a master's in engineering with an HND?
Sometimes. Some universities accept HND holders for related programmes, others want a full bachelor's degree. Send us your transcripts and we will tell you which programmes are open to you.
Which country is best for engineering?
It depends on the field. Lithuania has the widest choice through KTU and VILNIUS TECH, Hungary puts you next to the automotive industry, and Sweden builds work placements into the degree. We help you compare them for your own plans.
Can I work while I study engineering?
Yes. Every country we work with allows part-time work during studies, with limits that depend on the country and your level of study. The country pages list them.
How much does an engineering degree in Europe cost?
Fees depend on the university and the programme. Ask for a free written estimate and we will set out tuition and living costs for the options that fit your profile.
