What a year in Czech Republic actually costs
The Czech Republic sits at the affordable end of the European Union, and it is outside the eurozone.
Tuition varies widely by field, and each university sets its own fees. Living costs depend on the city, on whether you take university accommodation or a private flat, and on how much you cook. The residence permit carries its own financial requirement, set by the migration authority and reviewed periodically.

Living in the Czech Republic
Mladá Boleslav, where ŠKODA AUTO University sits, is a working industrial town about an hour north of Prague — small, inexpensive, and organised around the plant. It is a very different experience from studying in a capital, and for students focused on the automotive sector that is a feature rather than a compromise.
Prague is close enough for weekends and is one of the most visited cities in Europe, with a large international community and a substantial technology sector.
English is spoken in the university sector and among younger Czechs. Czech is a demanding language and is not required for your degree.

What students ask us
Can I study in Czech Republic in English?
Yes. The institution we represent teaches degree programmes in English. Czech is not required for your degree.
Where is the Czech student visa processed for Sri Lankans?
At VFS in New Delhi rather than Colombo. It is an additional step compared with Latvia, Hungary or the Netherlands, and it is one of the first things we plan around so it does not collide with your intake date.
Can I work while studying in Czech Republic?
Yes. Undergraduates may work up to 40 hours a week during term, and postgraduates up to 40 hours. That is full time, and among the more generous student allowances in the European Union.
Can I stay in Czech Republic after I graduate?
Yes. Graduates can apply for a nine-month permit to remain in the Czech Republic and look for work.
What does it mean that the university is owned by ŠKODA?
It means the curriculum, the projects and much of the teaching are shaped by an operating car manufacturer, and the plant is next door. It narrows the focus — this is a place for automotive, industrial management and production engineering — and for students who want that, the access is hard to match elsewhere.
Can my spouse or family join me?
Yes. Dependents can join you during your studies and are granted full work rights.
Are Czech degrees recognised internationally?
Yes. Czech Republic is part of the Bologna Process and uses the ECTS credit system, so qualifications are recognised across the European Higher Education Area and transfer readily for further study or professional registration.
Can I travel elsewhere in Europe on my permit?
Yes. Czech Republic is a full member of the Schengen area, so your residence permit allows short-stay travel across the zone without a separate visa.

📝 Entry Requirements
Bachelor’s Degrees: You will need your G.C.E. O/Level and A/Level certificates. Universities in the Czech Republic generally require at least 3 passes at A/Levels.
Master’s Degrees: A recognized Bachelor’s degree from a Sri Lankan university.
